An ancient Greek red-figure 'fish plate' (4th century BC), produced in southern Italy. These shallow dishes depict fish on their upper surface and were used for serving and eating seafood at Greek banquets. Terracotta, red-figure technique; Art Institute of Chicago ancient Mediterranean collection.
