Celadon Maebyeong with Inlaid Cloud and Crane Design (Leeum)

12세기

A Goryeo-dynasty celadon prunus vase (maebyeong) with inlaid clouds and cranes from the 12th–13th century, held in the Leeum Museum of Art in Seoul. Standing around 42 cm tall, the vase couples the distinctive Goryeo silhouette — broad shoulders tapering to a narrow mouth — with the characteristic 'bi-saek' ('secret colour') jade-green glaze. Its white-slip-inlaid cranes and curling cloud bands represent the summit of Korean 'sanggam' inlay technique, parallel to the version in the National Museum of Korea.
