Nam June Paik's 'The More the Better' ('Dadaikseon', 1988) is a 18-metre-tall tower of 1,003 television monitors installed in the central rotunda of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art at Gwacheon, south of Seoul. Commissioned for the Seoul Olympics in 1988, the work symbolises Korea's opening onto the world and the exuberant optimism of late-20th-century media culture. After a decade offline following technical decay, MMCA completed an extensive restoration in 2022 and reactivated the tower as the museum's most emblematic installation.
