Olafur Eliasson
Colour activity house
2010
Olafur Eliasson's 'Colour Activity House' (2010), permanently installed in the outdoor courtyard of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, is a circular pavilion of three concentric translucent glass walls in yellow, magenta, and cyan. As visitors walk between the walls, the overlapping primaries compose every secondary and tertiary colour of the spectrum, tinting the surrounding landscape and pushing colour theory into an embodied, walk-through experiment.
