The Goat

Pablo Picasso's 'She-Goat' ('La Chèvre', 1950) is a life-size bronze cast from a plaster assemblage built out of a wicker basket (ribcage), ceramic shards, a palm leaf (spine), metal cans, and wood. A late masterpiece of Picasso's found-object sculpture, the original bronze stands in the MoMA Sculpture Garden in New York; the Museu Picasso in Barcelona holds related works from the same year.
