Various California
1900s
Founded in 1918, the Laguna Art Museum is California's oldest museum dedicated solely to the art of the state. Its core holdings are the plein-air 'California Impressionists' of the early 20th century — William Wendt, Guy Rose, Joseph Kleitsch — whose sunlit coastal landscapes shaped the visual identity of modern California and continue into the museum's contemporary programme.
