Boy with Frog

Charles Ray's 'Boy with Frog' (2009) is a life-size stainless-steel statue of a young boy nude, grasping a frog in one hand and staring steadily at the viewer — rendered in the smooth, classical language of an ancient nude. From 2009 to 2013 it stood at the tip of the Punta della Dogana (Pinault Collection) in Venice, a landmark of the Grand Canal; since then it has featured in Pinault Collection exhibitions at Palazzo Grassi.
