Ongoing since the 2000s, prominent in 2010s
The Ilmin Museum of Art in Gwanghwamun, central Seoul, opened in 1994 in part of the Dong-A Ilbo newspaper headquarters, and since the 2010s has specialised in media art, video installation, and digital culture. It hosts regular solo and group exhibitions by mid-career and emerging Korean artists such as Yeondoo Jung, Jane Jin Kaisen, and Lee Woo-sung, as well as international video artists — anchoring Seoul's downtown media-art scene.
