Mintons Ltd.
Pair of Jardinieres
1874
A pair of bone-china jardinières produced by Mintons Ltd. of Staffordshire in the late 19th century, painted in enamels and richly gilded with a floral programme. Mintons translated the courtly Sèvres style into English industrial production, and the pair at the Art Institute of Chicago is among the key examples in its European decorative-arts galleries.
