Ai Weiwei Retrospective

M+ Hong Kong's Ai Weiwei holdings — among the largest of any public museum — encompass the Chinese contemporary artist's career from the 1990s to the present: his interventions on Han-dynasty urns, the 'Remembering' installation of thousands of children's backpacks commemorating victims of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, and the hundred million hand-painted porcelain 'Sunflower Seeds'. Large retrospectives staged at M+ have anchored its identity as the principal platform for contemporary Chinese art in the Asia-Pacific region.
