Jug

Late 1st-early 3rd century CE

A Roman blown-glass pitcher from the 1st–3rd century AD, formed with a slender looped handle and a full round body. Produced in the Roman glass workshops of Syria or Alexandria, such vessels served as tableware and ritual pourers for the Roman elite. It is a reference piece in the Art Institute of Chicago's ancient Mediterranean glass collection.
