Woman in Tub
1988
Jeff Koons's 'Woman in Tub' (1988), from his 'Banality' series, is a small porcelain figurine of a nude bather surprised in a bathtub — the cartoonish miniature magnified into a collectible sculpture of perfect kitsch finish. Produced in three editions, Koons's porcelain marked his full break with readymade appropriation into an all-the-more-slippery manipulation of craft and taste. Art Institute of Chicago.
