Liz #3 [Early Colored Liz]
1963
Andy Warhol's 'Liz #3 [Early Colored Liz]' (1963) is one of his silkscreen portraits of Elizabeth Taylor — a publicity photograph transferred to canvas in flat, slightly off-register colours, the 'imperfections' of commercial printing treated as the true texture of modern celebrity. Acrylic and silkscreen ink on linen, Art Institute of Chicago.
