Roy Lichtenstein American, 1923–1997
Artist's Studio "Foot Medication"
1974
Roy Lichtenstein's 'Artist's Studio: Foot Medication' (1974) is part of a series in which the Pop master rebuilds his own studio out of his own earlier paintings — the 1962 'Foot Medication' comic panel hangs inside the studio. The work is a playful meta-Pop picture, rendered in his signature Ben-Day dots and hard flat colour. Oil and Magna on canvas, Art Institute of Chicago.
