Thomas Struth's 'Art Institute of Chicago II, Chicago' (1990) is from his 'Museum Photographs' series, in which visitors contemplate paintings in front of Caillebotte's 'Paris Street; Rainy Day' in the very gallery where the photograph itself now hangs. A chromogenic print mounted on acrylic, it is one of the defining images of Struth's inquiry into museum spectatorship.
