spring 1909
Georges Braque's 'Little Harbor in Normandy' (1909) is an early Cubist landscape by the painter who, with Picasso, was then inventing Analytic Cubism. The harbour, sails, and rocks are dismantled into angular facets of ochre and slate-blue. Oil on canvas, Art Institute of Chicago.
