Head of a Woman (Fernande)
1909
Pablo Picasso's 'Head of a Woman (Fernande)' (1909) is a landmark Cubist sculpture — a bronze portrait of his then-mistress Fernande Olivier reconceived as a bust of faceted, fractured planes. The earliest sustained translation of Analytic Cubism from painting into sculpture. Bronze, Art Institute of Chicago.
