Gino Severini's 'Festival at Montmartre' (1913) is a classic Italian Futurist canvas by the painter then living in Paris. Dancers, lanterns, and fragments of Montmartre's nightlife are splintered into radiating planes of unmixed colour — a visual equivalent of the whirl of a café-concert.
