Leda
1920
Constantin Brâncuși's 'Leda' (1920–1926) is a marble carving that abstracts the mythological swan–woman encounter into a single curving form balanced on a circular turntable. The sculpture rotates on its base, allowing the polished marble to catch changing light — one of the most refined of his mature reductions. Marble, Art Institute of Chicago.
