Natalia Goncharova's 'Spanish Dancer' (c. 1916) is a Russian avant-garde painting produced after her move to Paris to join the Ballets Russes. The monumental dancer is pieced together from flat, folkloric patterns drawn from Russian lubok prints and Cubist faceting. Oil on canvas, Art Institute of Chicago.
