Frederic, Lord Leighton's 'David: Oh that I Had Wings Like a Dove! For Then Would I Fly Away, and Be at Rest' (1861–1862), also called 'David's Longing', illustrates Psalm 55 — King David in solitary contemplation atop a colonnaded terrace. A characteristic example of Leighton's High Victorian classicism, held at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
