View of the Gulf of Pozzuoli from Solfatara

Philipp Hackert's 'View of the Bay of Pozzuoli with the Solfatara' (1780s) is a classical landscape by the German painter who settled in Naples and became the favoured landscape painter to the Bourbon court.
