Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg opened May 1994 in a purpose-built Peter Schweger building funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. Famous for its 1,600 m² column-free hall — Europe's largest.
Industrial Scale
Olafur Eliasson's Weather Project was first shown here in 2003 before Tate Modern. Jeff Koons, Richter, Kusama, Hirst have had major German retrospectives here.
