Lee Ufan Museum Naoshima — Ando's Quiet Vault for Lee Ufan's Stones

Lee Ufan Museum on Naoshima Island opened June 2010. Designed by Tadao Ando for the Korean-Japanese Mono-ha artist Lee Ufan, it is the world's only large solo museum for his work.
A Dialogue Between Two Masters
Lee Ufan's Relatum series uses raw stones and steel as sculpture. Ando buried most of the museum underground, leaving only concrete walls visible on the Seto Inland Sea coast.

Visiting Tips
Ferry to Miyanoura, island bus to Tsutsuji-sō. ¥1,050. 1–1.5 hours. Closed Mondays. Reserve online for the Naoshima combo ticket with Chichu and Benesse House.
