Arata Isozaki's Concrete Pavilion in Gunma's Forest

Hara Museum ARC in Shibukawa, Gunma, opened October 1988 as a sister to the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo. Designed by Arata Isozaki, it sits in a green ranch near Ikaho hot springs.
From Tokyo to the Mountains
Founded by collector Toshio Hara. After the Shinagawa parent closed in 2020, ARC became the foundation's only permanent museum. Isozaki combined pyramid, cylinder and box volumes.

Visiting Tips
