The National Hangeul Museum in Seoul's Yongsan opened on Hangeul Day (9 October) 2014 — the world's only national museum dedicated to a single alphabet. It sits next to the National Museum of Korea and holds 20,000 Hangeul-related artifacts.
A Museum for a 570-Year-Old Script
Hangeul was created by King Sejong in 1443 and proclaimed in 1446 — the only script whose creator, date and design principles are all documented.
